The Hamilton Spectator reports that recent cuts to specialized education grants will mean a $108,000 loss for the Hamilton Catholic School Board.
The loss comes on the heels of the Tory government’s December announcement that it was eliminating some “Education Programs — Other” (EPO) grants and reducing the funding of others. Overall the reductions amount to $25 million province-wide.
Hamilton’s public school board is also being affected by the cuts, losing $270,000 — $15,000 of which has already been spent — for eight programs.
