At long last, a memorandum of understanding is finalized
On June 13, 2013, an agreement is reached. Upon finalizing an M.O.U, ETFO immediately calls for telephone town hall meetings, followed by a seven-day voting period from June 16 to 23, 2013.
By spreading the word effectively through social media and the Control Your Future website, members questions are anticipated and the process completed smoothly.
In the end, 91% of members accept the agreement. Considering the extreme difficulty of the process and the blatant hostility of the government, it is a heartening sign that the solidarity of ETFO’s membership has not cracked under pressure.
