Pushing back against Lecce’s plan — which the union representing public high schools (OSSTF) tentatively agreed to last week — ETFO present Karen Brown said she will ask the Ministry of Labour to appoint a neutral conciliator to speed what have been “unacceptably slow” negotiations for a new contract.
“This government is trying to be a bully. They’re trying to impose someone else’s agreement,” she told a news conference Tuesday at the Sheraton hotel in downtown Toronto.
