GOV’T ON COLLISION COURSE WITH NS TEACHERS OVER PENSIONS

Nova Scotia’s government is on a collision course with the province’s teachers over its demand to make teachers’ pensions an issue during upcoming contract talks, reports CTV News Atlantic.

Pensions are usually negotiated separately from the contract, says Paul Wozney, president of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union.

The province’s teachers are currently working under a contract imposed by the provincial government in 2017. The contract expires this year.
