CUPE SCHOOL SUPPORT STAFF SET TO STRIKE AGAIN AFTER TALKS WITH PROVINCE BREAK DOWN

Hundreds of thousands of parents and students should brace for more labour uncertainty in schools after unionized support staff are set to walk off the job again.

Laura Walton, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees’ school boards bargaining unit, said they have given Premier Doug Ford their five-days’ notice of a potential province-wide strike.

“It’s incredibly disappointing that the Ford government categorically refused to put money on the table to give students the type of learning environment they need,” Walton said Wednesday.
