With just weeks to go before summer break, Avery Swartz fears this school year is a “writeoff” for her daughter.
An already tumultuous start worsened when Clara’s Grade 6 homeroom teacher took a leave in the fall, setting in motion a revolving door of different teachers covering the absence.
“I cannot even begin to explain the stress this has caused her, our family, and everyone in her class,” said Swartz, whose daughter has had three different homeroom teachers and about eight weeks covered by a series of supply teachers and staff members rotating through the class. “These children have learned next to nothing.”
