There’s something sad about a darkened classroom in summer: chairs piled haphazardly on desks enabling a deep clean of the floor, stripped-down walls revealing none of the lessons learned within.
But then, come September, a bit of magic happens.
Suddenly that nondescript space is adorned with welcome signs and decorative borders. Activity stations and cosy reading nooks materialize. Puzzles and glue sticks are assembled in newly labelled cubbies.
