ETFO STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH PUBLIC SERVICE ALLIANCE OF CANADA

ETFO extends its solidarity and fulsome support to the 155,000 federal public sector workers across Canada represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). As the workers begin a full withdrawal of services and set up picket lines to demand a fair contract from the Government of Canada, our union stands in solidarity to support their collective bargaining goals.
This job action represents one of the largest strikes in Canadian history. PSAC is fighting for issues that are top of mind for all public sector workers, including educators and ETFO members. Our union adds it voice to echo the demand for a fair wage increase and to immediately stop the increase privatization of public services by ending contracting out.
ETFO asks all 83,000 of its members to ensure that striking PSAC members know they are not alone on the picket line by:
- Joining a picket line by using PSAC’s picket line locator to find a picket line in their community and visiting it before and after school to show support;
- Posting messages of solidarity on social media and urging the Government of Canada to come to a fair agreement. Please include the following hashtags: #canlab #workerscantwait and add @psac_afpcon Twitter; and
