FIRST BARGAINING DATE

Our First Central Bargaining Date

ETFO CB Staff in solidarity

ETFO held its first central bargaining meetings on June 15. ETFO’s bargaining team met with representatives from the Council of Directors of Education (CODE) and the provincial government at both the Teacher/Occasional Teacher Central Table and the Education Worker Central Table (EWCT). The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association attended the EWCT as observers.

Ground Rules Established

Today’s meetings focused on establishing the ground rules that will govern the bargaining process moving forward. Agreement was reached on the ground rules at both tables. These rules set expectations for timelines, communication protocols, confidentiality, meeting structures, and how proposals will be exchanged.

With this essential framework established, the parties can now move ahead to define the scope of bargaining. This next step includes reaching agreement on central lists, i.e., the items that will be negotiated centrally rather than locally. These discussions will happen at our next bargaining session. We will share those dates with you when they are determined.
