Ontario’s elementary teachers will have a month to cast their ballots in a strike vote that began Monday and will continue until Oct. 17.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) is hoping for a strong mandate from its 83,000 members — who include teachers, early childhood educators and other support staff in many boards across the province — as a way to boost bargaining power during ongoing negotiations with the province and school board associations.
Votes are being held in person.
